The Ayuntamiento or Palacio Consistorial was the first city hall or city council building built in the Americas. The original building was constructed between 1502 and 1504 A.D., but was remodeled and added onto in 1911, when the clock tower was built. Colonial City of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
