An avalanche of snow and ice pours off a steep slope on Cerro Paine Grande.  These very large snow cornices atop Cerro Paine Grande are the source of frequent avalanches which can be heard miles away.  Paine Grande is the highest mountain of the Paine Massif, and has a height of 2,884 m (9,462 ft). Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia, Chile.  A UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.
