Stuccoed murals on the interior walls of the Commandant's residence in the ruins of the fortress of Masada in the Judean Desert of Israel.  Masada National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Prior to being taken over by the Jewish rebels about 68 A.D., it was garrisoned by Roman troops.
