The Harpy Eagle, Harpia harpyja, is the largest, most powerful raptor in the Americas.  They can have a wingspan of more than 7 feet and talons over 5 inches long. Rare throughout its range, but found in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venzuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guyana, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.
